Kent Pokes League

Just got finished with my last league game in the Kent Poker League and pleased to say ive made the Grand Final next week!
Shortly after returnin from Australia i met up with my mate Jack for a few pints and told him that id started playin abit more live when i was away and what i thought Kent was missin was a Kent League ......errr it already exist mate lol, Ok so i kinda missed the boat on this 1 in terms of settin up 4 myself but havin played now for a season i still see alot of room 4 progress and not completely rulin it out for myself!!!
Anyway back to playin So me and Stackattack thought it be could 2 play and get involved.
Initially it was all good we started playin 3 venues and we was smashin it with 1 of us winnin each night.
As to be expected no1 can win every game and a few beats on the way, i cant speak 4 Jack on this but at first i found this abit hard to take , i aint gonna lie im very competitive and losin 2 ppl that i dont rate wel that just makes it worse and Let the tilt comence haha.
It was quite apparent from early doors that the people who attended these games where not that great aplayer and honestly speakin i underestimated them 2 a point.
The worst ocassion was when i shoved with KK only 2 get called with J4h if gettin sucked out on the words "I only Called because it was suited" sent me into a rage ....Only Time i didnt shake hands over bein eliminated.
Throughout the weeks and playin more a adjusted to the way they played developed reads from them and exposed them , i obviously didnt win every game but i felt my play improved alot, it goes to show u improve playin with good and u improve playin with bad and the mental adjustment and changin my game is what i got from playin this league.

Overall im fairly happy with my results however if im 2 do this league again i will be only doin 1 venue. My other issue with it is that there simply is no value in it and id be better off either playin online or findin a bigger game. Ultimately the best approach to this is play a few games at a venue qualify for the regionals and qualify at that also by playin the monthly finals, Thats exactly what jacks done.
Im off with Jack for the regionals 2moz also gonna play then next week the grand final so hopefully have some good news to report n next blog.

2011 Been Awhile.

Ive Just got done readin my good mate Jakattackz Blog and thought its about time i updated mine, also lookin at my page its about time a really got a background or some sorta theme goin on.
This time around i really need to get blog on and start makin regular posts.
Heres what my current situation is:
Been back from Traveling around 4 months now, Still unemployed wich is redic but never realised the difficulties i would face more on this another time. Find myself at a loose end alot , since returnin friends have other commitments , familys, Girlfriends and jobs its not like the old days where u can just ring up someone and say what ya up2 im coming round......then again theres always Dave Lee but even hes managed 2 find himself a relationship!! Also with limited funds available its not good atm.
Grindin lookin for work is horrible and the longer it goes on the worst it gets, my friends joke about sittin all day in the hot tub and themed rodney mullen youtube days (them videos never get borin) but its easy to get distracted from the task in hand.
Dont want to write too much in this post just a brief synopsis of where im at, at this point in my life, gonna be writin about gettin my life in gear in my career , progress in my Jiu Jitsu, My Poker journey and any other relationship or general shizzle that come my wizzle!!

2010 so far

Ok so about a month ago after a couple of months off due to travelin i decided abit of pokes was in order.

I was Havin a stay at my sisters and had a little spare time on my hands.

As mentioned in previous points a kinda propably like most have a love hate relationship with the game but at the moment there is no gettin away from.

I decided that i was gonna start 2 new accounts 1 with Fulltilt and 1 with Party.

small deposit on both , build up a bankroll , gain some decent stats i can be proud of.

It was supposed to be simple.

I made a small deposit of £30 on party and focused on mainly on sngs i was playin pretty well and won some dolla initially then i got a little frustrated because i was pushed for time i couldnt dedicate time to MMT and the sngs where takin forever to register, i resorted back to cash games!!!!

In the past Gash tables have been my down fall, I know it my self and my mate Jack is forever tellin me to stay away!

So the cash demon was in me and played and actually for once in my life ran good and played good and built but my Bankroll to like £190.

Ok a tilted a little and lost a few mina sngs and panicked so decided to cash0ut for first time. It may not sound alot but £150 went a nice way 2 a new laptop :).

New Laptop , New Fulltilt account. i wont go into detail but by brother in law is abit of a baby and up2 now i was usin his computer and he wouldnt let me put Fulltilt on it ???.

Back on Tilt .....ok i was up and runnin and searchin arund for freerolls and anyway 2 make a buck and i see my good friend Jak online , he kindly transfered me the healthy sum of $3 i quickly turned this into $15 by the end of the sesh and i thought i could build on this.

for the next week i was up and down untill a butod the lot , the highhest was about $20 i think.

I had my reasons for not signin my new account to my new account and lookin back now i wish i had.

I thought maybe i could deposit from my old account and transfer the money over.

I did this for $20 i plyed it down to down to my last $3 then entered a MMT for the last of my money

I managed a 5h place and $72 this was my best finish 2 awhile and was definatly the kinda prizes i aim for at this level so was quite happy.

Next few days i played more then usual and i dont know why but i was gettin busted left , right and centre , it didnt matter what i had or how i plyed it i was losin.

Iwitled down alot.

After a couple of days of this i was propa fed up and really didnt wanna play no more.

I plyed a $2 Mtt and breezed my way to the final table from jus under 500 runners.

I feel i plyed pretty good and got good cards at right time wich helped.

The tourny ended at the point i knocked out 5th place., i had a 3:1 chip lead on 2nd and in a good posistion. then all of a sudden connection lost !!!!!!!

it took me a about 5mins to regain my connection by this point it was heads up and i returned tomatey to raisin my blinds......Twat( i would done the same). so i took 2nd $150.

Maybe i fortunes are lookin up?

jus a quick shout to jakattackuk that won a $1,400 on a sly 4th on 1 of the guarantees.
I look at this a win for both minus i didnt get the winnins :).
Jak got me into poker and its been a frustratin journey for both of us so i see it asthough we in it together.

Its The Only way I can not log in!!

Januay so Far i would say is goin ok so far , Im stickin within my Bankroll, kinda reduced time playin and happily makin a small profit.
As mentioned in my previous post last year wasnt great in poker terms and as of 2010 i wanted become a more sensible player.
At The beggin of the year i made a small diposit of $60 (roughly £40) and i plan this to be my 1 and only for this year.
If anything I feel i become the opposite of what i was before hahaha and im actually really happy about this change around.

Ok This is My problem for the Last 7 weeks now i have had so much free time on my hand this is because i quit my job and im moving to Australia for a Year on the 2nd of February.
This Has Lead to many hours playin Poker Tournaments and quite often up2 5/6am gettin up playin again and bustin out 15hour seshes .......Its not all bad, at most i do enjoy playin dont get me wrong but i feel That Poker has developed a little bit of insomnia that mixed with some boredom im playin to kill time , plus it sota distracts me from thinkin about the scary thought of moving to the otherside of the world........

My Solution i have come up with is sumin i used 2 do when i was losin and thats self excludin from play, I find this feature useful. I never fully understood it because i thought its basically there for people with gamblin problems but if u have that much of a problem you wouldnt ban yaself???
I now know its 4 people like me :).
My Friend Tells me why u need to ban yourself why dont u just not log in and you'l feel better about yourself truth is I CANT. Even a 12 Hour ban is sometimes required becuase truth of the matter my Junkie ass would ge up 7 hours later and play ;).

Anyway its All good only another week left.

2010

Ok 2010 is here and who knows what it will bring.

Only done 1 post of this blog so far , maybe this year il be more active in the updates, but il be honest with you not a big fan of all this online poker comunity bullshit probably the only exception is RaiseTheRiver.com find that site extremly useful and the posts and banter are good and its the only 1 i regulary log in to.
Ive lost count of how many others i have accounts for , bloody Railbirds, Pokerspace, pokerinside, poker4gays....blah blah blah, end up signin up because my mate Jack 4wards me the links and its always to try and get a silly freeroll thts got 10thousand people in to win $8 haha sayin that i could do that $8 right now :).
So a little summary of 2009 ok i wont go into detail but runnin at a major loss wont try and justify this but this was down to a few reasons first of all the main problem in the begginin cash games :( plain and simple saw it as a way to make quick money i was limited 4 time and i crashed and burned plenty of times and kept goin back 4 more even tho i shouldnt and everytime i lost i felt sik.... Became a deposit junkie not gonna lie and as i had the money to keep pumpin into it was a bad posistion 2b in.
Due to workin alot i had a break from poker and came back rededicated focused on grindin from the bottom , controllin my Bankroll management and stayin away from cash.
At the time i also had a change of workin hours wich lead me to loads of free time!!!
This was not good becuase this lead me from playin many Sngs and Mtt and when u play about 20 a day all these $2 and $3 add up.
I always had in the back of my head how much id roughly lost but it wasnt untill 1 day when playin some mouthy prik at the table decided to announce to the table exactly how much id lost....untill then i never knew that these statistic sites existed. I will chat about what i think about them another time.
So yea checked them out and ill be honest was and still am quite embarrased what it shows but i guess they dont lie....
So coming clean im roughly about £1.000 down in cash and £2,000 in sngs and mtt if u search my statistics......amazin :( aint i anyone wanna sponsor me !!!.
again not makin excuses my the genious writtin this blog thought i know what ill do ill up my stakes on cash tables and yea i know ill plat $150 mtt :( :( silly boy.

fastforward 2 now.
Honestly believe im a much better player then what i was , im certainly alot more sensible i have strict levels which i play and only play sngs or mtt and the occasional low stake limit stud.
My goals for this year poker wise are;

1)Enjoy playin (times last year when i wasnt)
2) Learn and improve all aspects of my game.
3) Keep Playin MTTs and hopefully take a big 1 down.
4) make a steady profit.

Im off to Australia in 3 weeks so who knows how much pokes ill manage this year but hopefully play alot 2009 wasnt great but it was an experience and ive learned form it heres 2 2010.

First Blog

Jus when u was starting u wounder how many people need to do a poker blog along comes another 1, Thought i might aswel jump on the bandwagon.
Read a couple of other guys blogs and the tales of Final tabling 100k guarantees or playin poker to finance a luxurious lifestyle........makes u u dream dont it?
Thats not quite what this blog is about in all fairnus!!! I guess the best way of explainin it is like this when i was younger me a my cousin used to make skateboard videos, i got hours of footage of me practisn landin kick flips and ollin of 1 step and basically if u was to watch them you may laugh at how pathentic they are :) but deep down i always hoped that that video would make it to the final credits of Tony Hawks Pro Skater computer game hahaha.
Fast 4ward 13 years i cant help but but think that history as gone full circle and now its return but now that skateboard is a deck of cards!!!
Anyway thats a little insight / introduction 2 this blog stay tunes for more on Me and my Poker Journey!!!
